VALEDICTION are Dublin based Melodic Death Metal band. Origianally formed in 2005. They released one demo back in 2008 called 'The Bleeding Tower' with Irish metal veteran Lar Fraser on vocals. Come 2009 Lar was out and the band went on the hunt for a new vocalist. The position was eventually filled by Martin O'Hanrahan.
Fast forward a couple of years and VALEDICTION have just self-released their debut album 'The Primitive Architecture'. Recorded by Mick Richards at Trackmix Studios, it's an absolute blinder of an album by all accounts. A massive step up from the first demo. Credit to band for throwing so much time, effort and thought into the writing, recording and packaging of this album. Everyhting is spot on.

One of the more sprawling and eclectic albums in the Taxpayers catalogue, A Rhythm In The Cages isn't as airtight as some of its siblings, but it is absolutely bursting with incredible songs. Punk, blues, folk, noise, and unclassifiable weirdness abound. "Militaristic Kitchen," "Dig Too Deep," "Cuyahoga Canal," and "Stealing Apples From The Man" are all eccentric, hooky classics that will live in your head for days. There's really something for everyone here.

Twisting The Blade

Gutted I discovered this gang a bit late in the day, but what a legacy left behind. I saw them play once and I was blown away without ever having heard them beforehand, but if I knew the anthems the way I do now it would have been even better! Gone but still played regularly - you won't regret getting this.
